Partnership for improving the competitiveness of rural women in family farming in the countries of the Andean Region
The project seeks to strengthen the associative, commercial and entrepreneurial capacities of rural women involved in family farming, taking into account the challenges of climate change and applying gender, intercultural and generational approaches. The main objective is to improve the economic autonomy of these women and increase their participation in governance and decision-making within their business organizations. To achieve this objective, specific objectives have been outlined, which include strengthening business associativity by improving organizational and productive processes, developing technical assistance and agricultural extension programs with an inclusive approach, and promoting the effective participation of women in management and leadership roles. The aim is to develop women's capacities to assume managerial responsibilities and to encourage the inclusion of young rural women in specialized roles such as rural extension workers. The project establishes several key outcome indicators. At the end, it is expected to have a complete diagnosis of the organizational capacities of rural women in the Andean Region and their access to productive services. Local government organizations will have access to a specialized guide on promoting associations and cooperatives adapted to local realities, and multiple regional and local forums will have been held to share successful experiences and lessons learned.

Andean Agricultural Agenda 2021-2025
The Andean Agricultural Agenda 2021-2025 is a strategic plan designed to strengthen rural and agricultural development through regional integration. The agenda is structured around three main strategic lines: trade and agribusiness development, family farming and rural women, and agricultural health and food safety. In the area of trade and agribusiness development, the agenda focuses on strengthening the agriculture of the CAN countries by promoting intra- and extra-regional trade to improve competitiveness, productivity and sustainability. Regarding family farming and rural women, the objective is to promote family farming with special emphasis on rural women, promoting their access to production factors and reducing the technological and digital gap. The agricultural health and food safety line is aimed at strengthening technical cooperation in agricultural health and food safety to increase productivity and competitiveness, facilitating access to markets and guaranteeing the well-being of rural populations. The agenda includes a portfolio of six regional technical cooperation projects. The first project seeks to accelerate competitiveness and the growth of international trade in the agri-food system in the Andean Region. The second project proposes the regionalization of the Contract Agriculture Program. Another project focuses on agribusiness associations for the economic reactivation of the agricultural sector in the Andean region, strengthening family agriculture and promoting the participation of rural women. A technological platform for knowledge and exchange of experiences for Family Agriculture in the Andean Community is also proposed. In the health field, projects are developed for the exchange of knowledge and the generation of synergies in sanitary and phytosanitary management.
